Today is our little crazy, stinky breath, lazy, energetic, long eared Basset Hound’s birthday!

Currently he is spending his birthday with my grandparents in Minnesota and is probably being fed many treats for his celebration. He usually is put on a diet after spending several weeks there due to being spoiled!

Satisfaction…

Does anyone know the definition of side track? If you do please let me know. For many weeks now, the word blogging has haunted me in my sleep and continued to be on my mind.

While after taking Jet and Bella for a walk tonight, they convinced me that tonight was the night to sit down a write something. I’m even nervous to look through the camera of the pictures that I have taken to be blogged about.

So I think if I shared them with you at the same time while I look through them, I won’t be as shocked!

Oh man, I was going blog something about this. This happened at the beginning of August. I submitted these ice cream cake cones in the 4-H Sweet Treats auction. These were my favorite when growing up. My mom would make these for my birthday most of the time.

Yes, my favorite salad of all times now! I found this recipe because I need to use up some sweet corn and canned black beans. Let’s just say, hook me up to an IV-I could live off of this.

Then, I made this yummy dessert. A Pumpkin Spice bundt cake! I believe I devoured this within a week! Plus, a dollop of whipped cream on top makes it so much better.

In the past couple weeks, I have made this dish a few times on the weekend. I think they are Dustin’s favorite-breakfast burritos. I believe when I was making this, Dustin came home upset because Jet had an accident in the pickup while going a joy ride. These are definitely a way to a man’s heart!

How did this get on here? Long story short, they love each other!

The only conclusion that I could gather by these pictures is that I like food. I don’t think there is nothing wrong with that. I embrace my love handles each and every day. On a healthy note, I would just like to say I finally accomplished something healthy for my body.

Today was my last day of the Arbonne 7-day cleanse. If you haven’t heard of this at all, it helps cleanse and detoxify the system and support the GI tract. Trust me, it’s not harmful and works!
Well since I think I finally caught you up and myself, I think I’m going to eat a Apple Caramel Cheesecake bars. I made them this past weekend I think there are only 6 bars left. I’m sorry that they are delicious! I’ll blog the recipe later. Later gator!

Jet’s Favorites…

I can’t believe that its almost been a month since I last posted. Time has sure gotten away from me once again! I have done a lot in the past couple weeks but it just doesn’t seem like I have enough time to just sit down and let you know what’s happening. I just need to start making time. It sounds so simple doesn’t it! Since I’m just in a lull of what to write that I thought I would feature our adorable and loving yet trouble-making dog Jet!

This is a rug that laid in our bathroom. It was nice and cozy when we would step out of the bathtub. But several weeks ago, it got a new use!

It now belongs to Jet. And this is how the short story goes:
Dustin needed a haircut and I threw the rug out into the hall. Shortly into the hair job, he became Jet’s property! The end!

He drags it around the house like it’s a prize possession of his. He has shredded it and I’m still surprise that it has been intact for this long.

But don’t let this innocent face fool you! This household items destruction spree has a long history. Two more items have taken a beating from the jaws of Jet-plastic bottles and working gloves.

So that’s all I have now. I’ll keep you updated with which household item falls next to Jet’s mouth!

Bella…

Good morning everyone! I hope your day has started out well. This morning, I started out my day with a phone call to my G’pa! He has been concerned since last week when a storm ripped through the central part of the state. And, for this girl, I have been pretty busy. But, it was good to hear how things were going at the home front.

Anyways, this blog post isn’t about me. I just wanted write a blog about Jet’s lady friend. Yes, he does have a girlfriend and I think they are in love! This week, Dustin and I are watching our neighbor’s basset, Bella since she has given birth to her daughter.

Jet was eager this morning to get over to see Bella for the 4th day in a row. What a handsome fella he is! He has been able to run around in our neighbor’s backyard with Bella, drink out of the swimming pool, and try to eat Bella’s food but she puts him in his place!

Without further a due, meet Bella!

Bella says hello! She howls every time we arrive at the back gate but I don’t know if she’s excited that Jet is back or excited to see me! I think she has mixed feelings. A little background on Bella: she’s much, much older than Jet. She’s already a momma to two litter of pups, but don’t let her rollie pollies fool you, she loves her walks!

This is what my mornings consist of…getting drug across the street by Jet due to his excitement of playing with Bella for the day!

And they play!

Then they look at each other with love!

After of a minute of Jet prancing on Bella, they part ways. Bella munches on her food.
On the other hand, Jet…

Drinks out of the swimming pool! You gotta love him!

I don’t know what they do for the rest of the day because Dustin and I need to work so we can feed his body! But, I hope he isn’t destroying anything! I know we are going to have to replace a few things. Like while we were off on our honeymoon, he destroyed our neighbor’s swing cushion. Oh brother! Anyways, hope you all have a great rest of the day!

Uffda…

Oh man, I can’t believe where the days have gone! Time is catching up with us here in Philip. In a mere two weeks, I will be a married woman. A time that I have been waiting for a long time, well since the past two years!
We have been so busy with traveling, cleaning, getting last minute details figured out. All I can say is Uffda! This past year has been so memorable with our families and friends. I know I have touched on our bridal shower before but now after going through the many wonderful gifts receive and swapping old items for new, my heart sinks with happiness all over again. With the many gifts I received, let’s just say these ladies know me very well. I call it “Must Haves for a Future Bride’s Kitchen” and here a just a few of my favorites!
1. Pioneer Women’s Cookbook. The famous Ree Drummond lived the city life for quite sometime and while home visiting she fell in love with a cowboy. Her website offers readers what is going on the ranch, new recipes, photography lessons, and much more! She published a cookbook with her favorite recipes! For a cooking lover like me, I’m thrilled to try each recipe. I just might have a challenge! The next book on my list from her is about her basset hound Charlie!

2. Lefse board and rolling pin. Ever since I was born, my grandma and grandpa would make numerous packages of lefse! So, it’s only appropriate to follow in their Norwegian roots and start making some of our own, down the road. We love making pastries right now and the item is versatile for make pie crust, breads, and more!

3. More cookbooks. A woman can never have too many cookbooks! I remember my mom having a large cabinet drawer in the kitchen filled with cookbooks. Many are passed down by generations and some are built around family traditions. These fun cookbooks that I received will be put to go use!

This past weekend, we were away from home to celebrate our last time as single people. Dustin when to went to Kansas City for the races and came back a red cherry tomato. On the other hand, my girlfriends threw a party for me in Willmar and we went to a winery! While we were away, Jet stayed in Philip with his “girlfriend” Bella, the neighbor’s dog. Here are a few pose from him before we left:
Also, before we left we watered our plants very good and we have produce! That’s right, you heard me correctly!

Well I better get back to my to-do list! I just wanted to stop by and say that I’m still alive! I hope to blog a few times before our wedding!
